Drawing from a photo has many benefits, the subject is not required to sit for the artist for long periods of time. This is a great advantage when you want a portrait of your child or a loved family pet who have a tendency to want to move around. You may like to have a family portrait done but you are unable to get everyone together at the same time - no problems, this can be overcome by providing individual photos.
